Maybe it’ll rain tomorrow, maybe

Grass blur

Maybe it’ll rain tomorrow, maybe

Nothing much left here on my mind
The Sun’s come up and I’ve gone blind
Night has left this broken world behind
News of nations flood a million static lines

I’ve the Sun as my friend upon my shoulder
A forgotten road, overgrown, my companion
As a morning’s storm hides all traces behind
Just puddles of mud and clear rock pools
Play their notes with each splash, raindrop

Until the tall grass on these hillsides
Lay down to the weight of fallen water
Each drops’ tension glistens, their curves
About to roll from blade, awash the ground

Maybe it’ll rain tomorrow, maybe

It will fall today…
