For the Love of Winter Storms

Boulder storm

For the Love of Winter Storms

Winter storm, you darken then light my day

As your dusty scents fill an air so chilled

Watching your large watered tears fall

Landing on grass and sand dunes to the cape

While you clap loud with thunder’s laughter

Your lightening streaks as if shooting stars

Tangled up in chains moving faster than light

To leave a crisp blackness in your wake

While music plays soft in the background here

To step outside, to feel alive while a shore break

Rolls your hard fallen rain in wave after wave

Here it’s just escape to go down and sit

On the frontal dune, to watch, listen and sing

To your own tune, out there on the sea between

And, about such raised up islands, where

In their rocky places, collides your fresh moments.
