Listening for his footsteps

Dark Passage

Listening for his footsteps

Walking dark lit moving hallways

In 1921 once more, as a night sky

Streaks past wide low windows

Dulled soft music echoes its slow

Passage to man made passing time

While the season lowers its head

To its last full moon, until they meet

Again to dance once more to his words

Listening for his footsteps, the rear door

Opening, to observe as worlds vanish into

The silk of night’s perspective about its own time.
