Oh little lost bird

Oh little lost bird, you sing in the treetops

Waiting in the storm’s gale as  it begins blows

Oh little lost bird, you shake all those feathers

Listening for the rain as it starts to gentle fall

You know there’s nothing wrong with waiting

While lost weather passes it’s hollering time

Inside leaves, they’re your motley raincoat

Water and wind, they rush past by each side

Oh little lost bird, you made it through now

Made it out the other side into blue sunshine

Oh little lost bird, you make set for another flight

Open up those young wings, leave on a cooling  wind

Why summer rain leaves us time to forget

Time to disappear into, inside its falling peace.

  1. ‘Oh little lost bird’ brings with it a rhyme that works well. It takes patience to wait. In this poem, we’re reminded of its reward. So much praise accorded to this bird. Such a lovely poem, Sean.

  2. This one is a beautiful poem , dear Sean! ⭐
I couldn’t avoid thinking of the song “Black bird” by The Beatles when I read these words: “Oh little lost bird, you make set for another flight/Open up those young wings, leave on a cooling wind”… Thanks for sharing!. All the best to you!, Aquileana 😀
