Enchantment walks

Passing out from behind steel roller shutters

Enchantment walks its beauty out slow along

Unpaved roads, boots upon every pebble untouched

Turning her sober face away into those moving shadows

Foreign keys jangle upon her left’s braided copper torc

As she looks to the side where buildings, home no longer

Stands for history in this forgotten orphan’s heart in flight

Taken to sprint in her own direction, listening as the wind

Rushes past her ears, searching for her story never told

In hope another missing from her life will share it one day

When they find each other out in history’s spun, cascading

Waters beneath life’s silk funneling webs before last days

Last days into new days, beginning somewhere, some place.
