Strong dwell the trees

Strong dwell the trees
By the edge of the ravine
As with all they share
Their strength clung
Fierce brave too
Their feet in mountain sides
High above the gouged
Watered rift racing to the valley floor
To plunder many miles
A distance far into the great
Before reaching, passing
Through the sandhills
A desert pavement parched
As the water flow runs deep
Many the leagues from aging
The trees upon the ravine’s precipice
Sky born waters share their wealth
Their liquid blood with the living

To the awkward moments in silence
