Short stories update

For all whom might be interested in the short stories on this site, an update of the Short Stories page took place last weekend. Feel free to explore some of the stories added to the page below, with some luck maybe there’s something you might like amongst them.

Before time dwelt in the Tarkine (a short story): Started out as a Free Write Friday (via Kellie Elmore’s prompts), and has yet to progress.

Guests of the peninsular: The story’s roots rest in having woken up to a thundering 3am storm with a black cat sitting on the window sill staring out into the light and chaos. Even though the title says continue, the full story to date is there.

Lone Beacon: A short story in three parts, with two parts complete in their first draft. Full story now complete, Lone Beacon (final)

Medical First Response (MFR): An off shoot series of short stories from “The Adventures of Megan and Jack”, still in development.

Riggers and brothers, returning home (Expanded): Started out as a Free Write Friday (via Kellie Elmore’s prompts), and has now progressed a couple of  steps along to a slightly expanded story from its humble beginnings.

Splintered Lands: A series of short stories still under development.

The Adventures of Megan and Jack: One story is complete, “El camino de la roca”. Two others are currently work in progress, which includes the introduction story to “Medical First Response”.

The Last Ravine: (part of Forrester’s Water project). A complete short story in two parts, that is part of a larger project.

The lost Boy Thane: The first two parts of this story have made it through their first draft, there are two parts to follow. The full story so far can be found here… Two ghosts, three goats,and a thane (final)

The Sharing of a Tale: Started out as a Free Write Friday (via Kellie Elmore’s prompts), and has now progressed a couple of few steps along. (The start, Continues, The Chase)

The winding road to “Wait Awhile”: Started out as a Free Write Friday (via Kellie Elmore’s prompts), and has now progressed a couple of  steps along. (a beginning: The rolling hills; continued: The dark birds)

Wayfarers’ resolve (a FWF – Free Write Friday, journey): Started out as a Free Write Friday (via Kellie Elmore’s prompts), and has yet to progress.

There are a few other scratchings around that may become stories too, like…

A walk in life’s mist

And in that moment, I swear we were infinite!

As the sun rises

Blind in the darkness

Caught unsheltered, the story goes, friends for life they say

No title in the many years

The lazy rain perspective

The water’s cold surface fringe

They came

To depart with strangers
